What is the difference between CAT6A U/UTP and S/FTP?+
CAT6A U/UTP relies on pair geometry for crosstalk suppression with no metallic shielding (7.2 mm diameter, ~42 kg/km). CAT6A S/FTP has individual pair foil shields plus an overall braided shield for maximum electromagnetic protection (8.2 mm, ~58 kg/km). U/UTP suits low-interference environments like offices; S/FTP suits datacentres and industrial installations.
What is the lead time for CAT6A cable orders?+
Standard production is 3–4 weeks from order confirmation to dispatch. Channeltech manufactures in Vapi, Gujarat, with 4,000+ km of monthly CAT6A capacity, and schedules pilot runs as well as volume programmes. Sea transit is added for export orders — for example about 4–6 days to Jebel Ali or 20–38 days to Rotterdam.
Does Channeltech provide ETL-certified cables?+
Yes. Channeltech achieved ETL certification on the first attempt for CAT6A S/FTP. Cables are also certified to BIS IS 14493 (ISI Mark), made under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, and tested to ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and IEC 61156-5.
Can Channeltech supply cables internationally?+
Yes. Channeltech supplies customers on 5 continents, including the Middle East, Europe, the UK and the USA. Cables are RoHS and REACH compliant. Terms are FOB Nhava Sheva (Mumbai) or CIF destination, with USD, EUR or GBP invoicing and full export documentation, including certificates of origin under the India–UAE CEPA and India–UK CETA. HS code 8544.49; approx. 250–300 km of CAT6A per 20ft container.
What CAT6A shielding is best for datacentres?+
For high-density datacentre pathways, CAT6A S/FTP gives the largest alien crosstalk (AXT) margin — Channeltech achieves +6.6 dB above the standard at 500 MHz. For moderate density, U/FTP offers strong AXT performance at lower weight and cost.
